Martha P. Smith, Senior Auditor

Martha began working for Walker & Associates in 1989 soon after moving from her home state of Kentucky. Martha has extensive experience in the auditing of governments, nonprofit entities and for profit businesses. To date, Martha has over 21 years of experience in public accounting.

Martha holds a bachelors of business administration in accounting from the University of Western Kentucky.

During her professional career Martha has enhanced her professional training through continuing educational programs including the Single Audit Act of 1984, Governmental Accounting and Auditing, Disclosure Requirements for Local Governments, Efficiency in Auditing of Local Governments, Solid Waste Closure and Post Closure Cost, GASB Update and other governmental workshops, including several on implementation of GASB 34.

Martha is an associate member of the Georgia Society of Certified Public Accountants and the Delta Sigma Pi business fraternity.

Away from work, Martha enjoys attending her two daughter’s soccer and volleyball games and tennis matches.
